My Big One Year Old!!!

Slacking again, yes I know. I have recently started working again and between work, and school starting up again, and my busy boys, I just haven't had time. I'm full of excuses, I know. But, its the truth. Anyways, back to the point here...

My little Landon is One-Year-Old! Ahhhhhhhhh!
It is insane how fast the year has gone. And how incredibly wonderful it has been. I could not have asked for a better experience or a more wonderful son. He is just perfect for me. He has his days, of course, but I wouldn't trade it for the world!
So, the one-year doctor's appointment went well. He is 24lbs-ish. I don't remember exactly what it was. and he is 29.5 in. tall. He is right on track with his growth, and the doctor said he is "well ahead" of his milestones developmentally. My little genius!
These days, he is into getting in trouble in every possible way he can. He is just so curious and he really knows no boundaries. He has no fear and just wants to check everything out. He has tried to climb over the gate to get up the stairs, he stands on his ride-on rocket ship, climbs over the arm of the couch, and just dives for anything and everything he wants. He has figured out how to point at what he wants, which makes things easier for me. He can also point out who people are now, much to the delight of everyone. He knows  how to find Mickey Mouse (at least his Mickey couch) in the living room, and I can hide cutouts of Goofy and Pluto for him to find and bring to me when asked. This is a new favorite game. He knows how to find his milk and his blankey, and most of everything you ask him to find. He is working on saying "Tee" for Auntie, as well as "Tay-Tay" for Uncle Taylor. He loves to make the "sssss" sound too, to call my dad's dog Sam over to him. His newest habit that we are trying to fight right now is sharing his food with Sam. If there is an extra bite in his hand, he will find Sam to give it to him. And, if there isn't an extra bite in his hand, he will just take the one out of his mouth to give to the dog. It is rather sweet of him to share, but I just wish it wasn't with the dog all the time.

We had Landon's birthday party on January 8, and of course it was Mickey Mouse theme. We had a blast with our friends and family, and watched the Saints play. Unfortunate loss, but still a great time. Jenn and I made a shirt for Landon to wear for his party, and he also recieved a Saints jersey from our friends in New Orleans earlier that day, so he wore that too. He got some great presents, and just had a blast being the center of attention. I don't think he has ever had an audience that big, and boy did he love it!

One more for today- A few videos.

The little man is getting more and more entertaining every day. And I always intend to put these up but always seem to forget. So, here they are!

Dancing to Mickey Mouse, plus a nice little face for you at the end.

Birthdaysss...

This time of year seems to drain our bank accounts. First, in November, we have Nate's birthday. Then, December 20 is my sister's birthday. Then Christmas. Then December 29 is my birthday. Then January 4 is Landon's birthday. This is the first year we have really felt the full effect of it all, but even still, its a blast. First, we celebrated Jennifer's birthday with our family. We hung out most of the day, then that night my parents, Nate, Landon, myself, Jennifer and her friend Taylor all went to Outback for dinner. Mmmm... delicious! Then, after dinner we came home and had some cookie cake (my favorite!) and we went out to see the lunar eclipse! Another one of Jenn's friends, Lauren, joined us. We drove out to find a quiet spot in the neighborhood and we all layed in the back of Nate's truck, bundled up of course, and watched the eclipse. It was very cool and I'm suprised we made it to see the whole thing without getting too cold and going home!

The day after Christmas, we celebrated Landon's  birthday with Nate's family, since his sisters all had to go home and won't be able to make another trip out for his actual birthday. He got more presents, which of course he loved. And he got his first official taste of cake and milk! He was such a cutie digging into his little cupcake. And of course, right when he finished, we tossed him in the sink for a quick bath because he was such a mess!

 Baby Cousins!

My Birthday Boy! Waiting for his cupcake.

Not a fan of the party hat.

 What is that...?

Oh. I think this might be good...

 Yep. Definitely delicious.

 Someone is a happy boy!

Into the sink!

My birthday, well, lets just say it was uneventful. Nate and I went out on Tuesday night at midnight with my brother, my best friend Greg, and our friend James, to have a few drinks. Then we got to sleep in on Wednesday, and we went shopping. Nate bought me a dress to wear when we went out that night. We came home and got cleaned up while Landon napped. Then we went to Joe's Crab Shack to eat with my family. They sang to me and made me stand on a chair and do the hula while they sang. Yes, there are pictures. No, you will not see them. Haha my mom has them on her iPad, so I will have to steal them from her later. After dinner, we were soooo full that we ended up staying home and not even going out. A bit of a bummer, but I had a good day nonetheless.

A few days later was New Years Eve. We went out that evening to Dave and Buster's with Jon, Natalie, James, and Timmy. We had a blast sitting there and people watching all evening. Man, the people you see sometimes! It was quite and interesting night, but it was very relaxing and much needed time with friends. Unfortunately, I have no pictures from that night either. I know, I'm becoming terrible at this picture thing. I told Nathan that if I had a nice DSLR camera, we wouldn't have to pay for pictures anymore and I'd have better ones, so (fingers crossed) maybe 2011 will hold a new camera for me. :)

Ohhh December...

With everything going on this month, it seems to have flown by me. We had so many Christmas things to do, as well as my sister's birthday and my birthday. And planning for Landon's birthday. Where did 2010 go?! It was a very fun month though, and I was so busy I again forgot to take Landon's pictures. I know, I know. He is just getting so big and has a mind of his own these days, it is difficult to get him to sit still for one lousy picture! So, I will use a makeshift picture again this month.

Christmas this year was, by far, the best in a long time. I loved being able to watch Landon rip through the wrapping paper and check out all the cool things he got. He was way more interested in the paper, and too busy most of the time to sit still to play with things til later in the day. But, nonetheless, it was a blast.
We hung out at my house on Christmas Eve and baked. We had so many goodies we didnt know what to do with them all. That night, we all got brand new Christmas pajamas and sat around to watch Christmas Vacation, as we do every year. Once Landon went to bed, Nate, my brother Ryan, and I all put together toys for Landon and got to play "Santa" which was probably my favorite part. The next morning, we stalled Landon upstairs when he woke up so we could get everyone else up and ready. Then we took him down for presents and he loved it. He had no idea what to even think!

 Checking things out Christmas Morning.

We put him in his toy box! He had no clue what was going on!

After we did Christmas morning and breakfast with my family, we all got cleaned up and dressed and headed over to see Nate's family. His sisters were all here with their kids (minus Lexi and Dylan, who we missed very much!) so we got a whole other Christmas there! Landon had lots and lots more toys, but I think his favorite turned out to be the Mickey Mouse play set that his Auntie Syd and Uncle Luke got him. We all know how much he loves Mickey Mouse! We spent the rest of the day there with them, and we got to watch all of the little cousins play together all day. They played so nicely! I'm sure it won't stay that way forever, but it was nice to have a quiet Christmas without kids fighting!
