Thanksgiving Weekend

This past week, we traveled 8 hours to go to Bear Lake in Idaho to spend Thanksgiving with Nate's family at the Gray Family Cabin. We were with Nate's parents, his sister Sydney and her family, his sister Breecia and her two kids, as well as his Aunt and Uncle and their five kids and one son-in-law, AND Nate's grandpa. Talk about a big family thanksgiving! We had so much fun. We went shooting in the canyon on Thanksgiving in about 14 degree weather. It was my first time shooting a gun, and it was tons of fun! We had a nice, big dinner, and vegged out a bit. The next day, we took Landon sledding for the first time, which he LOVED. And we also had a gingerbread house contest. I was a team captain, and I got on a team with Alexis (Nate's niece, 13) and Carter (Nate's cousin, 10). Our house was super cute and we got the award for Best Effort! We had lots of fun decorating, and eating the candy too, of course. We hung out a ton, and played games and watched some football and basketball. It was overall a really good weekend.
It was really nice to be with so much family, and it was such a good reminder of everything we have to be thankful for. I am so thankful for my happy, healthy baby boy. And my amazing Fiance and father of my son, who takes such amazing care of us every day. I am also thankful for all of the love and support we have from both of our families. I am thankful that we are all healthy. I am thankful for all of my friends who have been there for us both. And I am very thankful for my son being soooo good in the car for 8 hours both ways! :)

Ok... Ok... I suck.

I know. I promised an update after he started walking. And I should have had his 10-months up already, seeing as how he will be 11-months this week. But, I'm a slacker with this lately.

So, here it is. This month has seemed to go by fast. I am finishing up the semester for school, so lots of papers and projects and tests. But, I am keeping up very well. Nate's birthday was on the 17th, and he is the big Twenty-One! We spent the day walking around at Bass Pro Shop, then hung out for a bit. Then we went to dinner with Nate's family at Ted's Montana Grill, then out with a few friends. It was overall a very relaxing day, just what he wanted! We have been working on looking at places to live, and getting ready for all of the holidays. It is a busy, busy time of year.

Landon is getting so big, it is scary. He started walking almost two weeks ago, and is already pro. He is barely even wobbly anymore, and he cruises every where he wants to go and every chance he gets. He is getting very good at mimicing what we say and do, and he makes the BEST faces every these days. We are so lucky that he is such a healthy and happy little boy! He is still eating anything and everything we put in front of him, and still only has two teeth! But, I am almost positive that a top tooth is finally coming in. Check the record though, I think I've said that for about 4 months in a row now.

BIG UPDATE!

I know, I haven't been good about posting this month. I haven't even gotten his pictures up yet for this month with his update. BUT. I must update this once really fast, and tomorrow (hopefully) I will have the big update for the month.

Tonight's Big News!
Landon James is walking!
I am such a proud mommy right now! I left to go to school this afternoon to turn some things in, and go figure, he walked for my parents while I was gone. But, as soon as I got home, he walked from Pop to me! Took at least 4 or 5 steps to come give me a biiiiig hug! His daddy is so jealous that he's missed it. So we are letting Landon power nap right now until Nate gets home in an hour and a half. Then we get to show off our super powers to Daddy!

And, for everyone else, here is a quick video we took tonight. Enjoy!

Happy Halloween!

It was our little Landon's first Halloween this year, and for some reason, I was very much in the spirit. Saturday night my mom and I carved pumpkins (which I had never actually done on my own, oddly enough) and made delicious sugar cookies, and then Sunday we spend the day in the kitchen making all sorts of snacks and treats for dinner that night. We had chocolate covered pretzels, Monster face cupcakes, Seven Layer dip with homemade ghost and pumpkin shaped chips, creepy crawly bugs (they were like pigs in a blanket, only with legs and faces), and of course, the traditional chili. We had a bunch of family friends over Sunday and I took Landon trick-or-treating around our cul de sac. He had no idea what was going on, but we got some good candy for Mommy and Daddy!

9-Months-Old!

At the beginning of this month, my little man turned 9-months-old. He weighed in at 24lbs 6.5oz. and is 29 in long! That's a whole 10 inches more than when he was born! I love  my little chunk and how big he is getting. It amazes me every day. The weather is finally cooling off around here, which is actually quite  nice. And I must say, I am enjoying dressing my little man in jeans and long sleeves. He has some cute clothes, if I do say so myself. :)
We are so excited for his first Halloween coming up. He has already gotten his costume, he will be Mommy's Little Monster! I am so excited! I may be more excited than him... To get ready for the season, we have already visited a pumpkin patch, which was such a blast! Landon has also gotten his first real winter hat. I love it, even though it sometimes makes him look like a homeless man.
My big man has decided that table food is WAYYY better than baby food (duhhh). So he has cut back on the amount of baby food he is eating, sometimes even refusing it because he doesn't like the taste very much anymore. These days, he is loving on some cut green beans, cut carrots, chicken salad (chopped really finely), and french fries! If there are french fries on your plate, and you're not sharing with him, he will let you know how unhappy he is! He holds on to the sides of his high chair and squeezes really tight and screams! It is quite cute, although I'm missing the days when we could eat our meals in peace without having to go by the "a bite for me, a bite for you" rule. He's also a big fan on rice and beef gravy, and is very intrigued by the Halloween candy. He loves the wrappers and just wants so badly to know about what is inside that everyone loves so much! Maybe one day baby boy... But not today!
