Utah Trip!

We had our first family vacation just two weeks ago. We flew to Salt Lake City to spend a few days with Nate's sister, Sydney, and her family, then drove to St. George to see another one of his sister's, Paige, and her new baby boy. Then we made the long journey home through some beautiful parts of Utah I had never seen before. We had so much fun with everyone, despite a few small roadblocks. We left on Monday morning at 4am for a 7:00 flight, and when we woke Landon up at 3:30, he was running a little fever due to teething. So we knew from the beginning that it was going to be a VERY long day. He did great on his first plane trip though. He started crying before the plane took off, but I was able to calm him down and put him to sleep in my lap before takeoff, and he slept for about 3/4 of the flight, until the pilot came on to give us some information, and the loud ding of the speaker woke him up. But he was so good even after that. He played in my lap and in Nate's lap, looked out the window, took some pictures, and just hung out. We got to see Nate's Aunt and her family, as well as his grandpa, that evening, which was really cool because Landon got to meet his Great-Grandpa, one of two great grandparents he has. It was so much fun to hang out with Sydney and Luke and Lola for a few days. Landon and Lola are finally getting interested in each other and wanting to hang out and figure out what the other one is doing. It is so cute! Unfortunately, after one tooth came through, another one was quick to follow, then a cold came on for both Landon and myself. I believe we left our mark at Sydney's house. Then we made our journey to St. George to see Paige and her little Lincoln! He is too cute, and so tiny! And such a good little boy! It's hard for me to believe that Landon was once that big, seeing as how now he is a "man child" as Grandpa Steve likes to call him. It was a lot of fun to see St. George and see where some of Nate's family is from. It is a really pretty town, and the red rocks all over are just beautiful! After spending a few days there, we snuck out early on Saturday morning to start our long journey home. Ten hours in the car with a baby... and it was actually not as bad as it seems. Landon slept for the first part of the trip, since it was so early. Then we stopped for breakfast and let him play for a bit. Then he and Daddy took a nap while I drove, then another stop for gas and some play time. Then he just hung out in the back until we got home. He only started to fuss about 30 minutes before we got home. Which is A-OK with me! He was so happy to be home in his bed with his toys, and not to mention his puppies. We had a great trip, but I think it's safe to say we were all happy to be home.

Waiting for the plane. Had to cruise around the airport.

Still waiting, but being a good boy!

Fishiesss!

Yesterday we had our first trip to the aquarium! What an adventure! Landon and myself went, along with Auntie Jenn and Auntie Shelby, and the kids Shelby nannys, Bella and Bennett, and our family friend's two boys, Holton and Hyland. We had quite the crew! Three strollers total. Three kids under Three-years-old. But, we all had a blast! Landon loved being able to be pushed up to the glass and see all the colors and the fish swim by. Towards the end, we took him out of his stroller a lot and he loved that even more. We saw mermaids swim and perform for us, we saw Nemo and Dory and Crush and Mr. Ray. Haha the kids had such a blast. We did decide, however, that we will never go again with that many strollers!

6-Months-Old!

I know, everyone says it. And I never really understood until I became a mother. But time flies! Oh my gosh, I feel like it was just yesterday that I got to bring my little boy home. And here we are, hitting the six month mark! And now I feel like its going to be absolutely no time until he is a year old. And it makes me happy and sad at the same time. Anyways, enough with the sappy stuff.

At his 6-month check up, Landon weighed in at a whopping 19lbs 14.5oz. and is 29.25in. long. In case you don't know, that's about how big most babies are once they approach a year. My Chunk! He is in the 90th percentile for weight, and above the 97th for height! So, if you want to be technical about it, he is a little light for his height. But we like him just the way he is! He is a perfectly healthy and happy BIG boy! The doctor was very impressed with how strong he is, and how mobile he is getting, and even said that she wouldn't be suprised if he skipped crawling and went straight for walking. Lucky Me! He is working on sitting up, and getting super close! He's moving up into Level 2 foods, and still gets three meals a day. I feel like I can never shovel food in fast enough for him. And I am positive that the first tooth will be here any day now! My poor boy has been very fussy and drooly, and hasn't been sleeping very well. Hopefully it happens soon!

For Landon's first Fourth of July this year, it was sadly uneventful. But he had a great day nonetheless. My little man was dressed in a sweet Captain America tshirt, and looked absolutely adorable. We hung out at home with family most of the day, then had a few people over for a BBQ that night. And my brave little man wasn't even phased by the loud noises from the fireworks! The next day, we spent the day at Nate's parent's house with Cousin Lola before she left to go home. Landon and Lola tried out the new blow up pool, and even though it was a little cold, Landon had a blast! Lola wasn't quite as much of a fan, but we're hoping that next time they're together they will swim together! It's so much fun to see them watch each other and wonder what is going on. I can't wait until they can actually play together!

And, of course, here are some pictures. :)

I know... I'm a Slacker...

I haven't updated in almost a month. And, seeing as how we are almost at the 6-month mark for my little man, maybe I should make a new post. Landon is so big, it amazes me every day. He is working on sitting up, and getting quite good at balancing once we get him sitting. He has also mastered rolling from his back to his stomach. He doesn't quite get the stomach to back part yet, I think its mostly because he is lazy. But so cute! While on his stomach, he has started to curl his legs up under himself and get his butt up in the air, but his head is on the ground and he plows around. Unfortunately for me, this means crawling can't be far away. Oh how I will miss my freedom! Since it is summer, we have grown accustomed to spending our Saturday or Sunday outside at car shows with Nate. I actually rather enjoy these days, being outside on a beautiful day with my little family. And I'm starting to recognize the special things about some of Nate's favorite classic cars. Landon loves being outside too, and Nate loves to show him the cars and take pictures of them together. I can already see, this is going to be a tradition for years to come. Landon even enjoys the rumble of the engines, much to his father's delight! This last weekend, I have had a rather cranky baby on my hands, and I'm starting to believe that I can attribute that to a tooth coming in. Poor baby, he drools a TON and all the time. He has also had an upset stomach, runny nose, and chews on whatever he can get his hands and mouth on. Hopefully it is a tooth, and it shows up soon, because I certainly can't stand to watch him like this! But, in happier news, Landon has definately found his laugh, and it is so freaking cute! He loves to laugh at any puppies, or at funny noises, or pretty much at anything! It melts my heart every time! I am so blessed to have such a happy baby all the time. Ok, maybe not all the time, but you know what I mean. Our first Father's Day was a success. I asked Nate for weeks what he wanted to do for Father's Day, and all he ever told me was "nothing." So, that is exactly what we did. I got up and took care of Landon, and then made eggs, bacon, and pancakes for Nate and my Dad, and everyone else too. Breakfast is Nate's favorite meal, and I very rarely make it for him, so he really enjoyed this. Then my family left to go ride quads with some family friends, and Nate, Landon, and I layed around the house and napped and did nothing all day. It was just perfect to get to spend that family time together and really enjoy each other, because we don't get to do it all that often. I'm so happy that he had a good day and he got to relax and not worry about anything for a whole day. He definitely deserved it!

And now... We have pictures. A whole mish-mash of picture from the month. :)

Aunt Jenn drug us to the mall for the opening of the Microsoft store, and to meet her favorite celeb, Rob Dyrdek. Landon's first celebrity meeting. He even signed Landon's pukey bib!

I laid him in bed, undressed him, and went to run his bath. And he was crying and throwing a fit because he was very tired. So I come back from the bathroom, and this is what I find! :)

5-Months-Old!

Today marks 5-months-old for  my sweet boy. I can't believe we are already here! It seems like its gone by so fast, and he just gets bigger and smarter every day! Lately, he's been working on sitting up, which is just such a blast! He tries so hard, and just ends up falling over. Poor little guy! He is still eating 3 meals a day, and trying to eat more and more every time. With every bite he takes, he makes sure to let us know how much he likes it by giving us a nice "mmmmm" while he eats. We have yet to find a food he doesn't like. I'm so happy about that too, I was so nervous he would be picky like me and his dad! We also took him to the pool for the first time this week, and boy did he love it! He just kick, kick, kicked the whole time in his little float, and then swam around with me holding him and enjoyed the water. I had such a blast! My parents got him a swing to hang outside, so he can hang out with us and enjoy the sunshine. He has so much fun in his little swing, and loves to watch the dogs play and the wind blow in the trees. It is so much fun to watch him just absorb everything and figure things out. He has just found his tounge, and loves blowing bubbles with his spit and sticking his tounge out to make noises. It might be the cutest thing ever! We can stick out tounges out and make spit noises at him and he is figuring out how to do it back. Tonight, he is having his first sleepover away from home, and his first entire night away from mommy and daddy. He's staying with Nate's parents tonight, and I know he is super excited to get away from us! As for Nate and I, we are going camping with all of our great friends for the first time this year, and I can't wait to get away for a night and see everyone again!
