Lazy, Lazy Day

The week has drug on quite a bit, and its definately had its ups and downs. But now I have a moment to breathe today, so here I am. Time for an update.

It  has been an eventful week in the life of my little Landon. We discovered on Sunday that he seems to be cutting his first tooth. Already! He's only 11 weeks old! Poor guy, it just bugs the crap out of him. So he hasn't been all that happy this week. But still, he manages to get out a few smiles for me throughout the day. Being the little chunk that he is, its been increasingly hard for me to keep up with nursing him. So, as of Monday, he has been successfully switched from only breastmilk to half breastmilk, half formula. I wasn't planning on having to put him on formula so soon, but it makes life that much easier and more manageable. Now, I can pump and have plenty of bottles ready for him for the day, and it's such a relief for me. Maybe a little selfish, but he's such a chunk! He's eating anywhere from 6oz. to 7.5oz at any given time!

Also, as of last night, Landon is officially sleeping in his own room! He's been in the pack-and-play next to my bed since he came home. He's been such a good sleeper the entire time, so I guess its been more me keeping him there than anything. The last few weeks hes been only waking up between 5am and 6am to eat, then again between 8 and 9, and hes up for the day. Which works out wonderfully for me! So last night, I decided it was time for his own bed. It took a little longer than normal to put him down, but I don't think he was feeling well. Anyways, he was asleep by 11ish, with his monitor on and everything. And slept great all night! Me, on the other hand, I slept quite lightly. Nate had to laugh at me when we were falling asleep. I told him I missed my baby and wanted him next to me again. But I know, its about time he gets to sleep in his own bed. When he finally woke up this morning, at about 8:15, I heard him on the monitor just laying in his bed, laughing and talking to himself and his toys. I just layed in bed listening to him for a good half hour before I just had to get up and play with him! He's such a good boy, I'm so proud of him!

He's napping now, but I suppose I should go do something with myself today. We get to go out with some good friends tonight. I am so excited to finally see everyone again. I feel like I've barely seen anyone in many many months. So its about time! And, of course, its so great to introduce everyone to my baby boy!

  1. Im so excited you have a blog now and I can keep up with your little family this way now too! And I LOVE your background. So cheery!

I feel so bad for little Landon already being bugged by teething :( Lola teethed from 3 months until the first one cut at 6 months and with each new one she still gets major ornery and fussy. Cant wait til the teething days are over with! That and jarred food feeding. It is the worst pain in the neck, messy, time consuming thing there is. Id rather clean toilets :) And good for you being able to let Landon be a big boy in his own room now. It took me 4 months until I could part with Lola. But I was so glad when I did bc we all slept better after that :)

I cant wait to see you guys next week and Lola is super excited to play with Landon :) keep up with the fun posts!
