Baseball!

The end of this month has been quite eventful for us! To end our exciting month, we took Landon to his first baseball game to see the Rockies and the Dodgers. Nate wore his Dodgers jersey, so naturally, we had to put Landon in his Dodgers shirt. We went with Nate's Dad and Brother, and it was so much fun! Our seats were out in right field, on the second level, and of course, there doesnt seem to be any bad seats in Coors Field. Landon was such a good boy the whole time. He was kind of wiggly, and wasn't sure what to think when everyone started yelling and screaming. He was too cute though, trying to climb into my lap and wanting me to hold him tight when it got loud. He didn't get fussy until the bottom of the 7th, which was perfect  because we ended up leaving in the middle of the 8th. He had so much fun being there with us, and I am so happy we got to take him and that he was a good boy for us! We didnt even have to get up and walk around with him!

And what was even more exciting, though I don't have pictures, was that on the way home that night, Nate saw something in the road that he thought was a cat or a branch or something. As we got closer to it, though we didn't slow down any, Nate realized it was an owl! I didn't see it, so we turned around and went back, pulled over with our cautions on, and got out to check it out. Sure enough, it was an owl laying face down in the road. Luckily, a cop pulled up not long after, turned his lights on and blocked the street. He poked it with his nightstick to see if it would respond any, and it did. So we knew it wasn't dead. He called for someone to come get it. And while we were waiting, the officer managed to get the owl into a sitting position, but he still had his eyes closed and wasn't moving. Another couple pulled over and came to tell us about a foundation that rescues and rehabilitates owls, so that we wouldn't send it away with Animal Control. So the cop radioed in and was telling them about this foundation, when all of a sudden the owl opens his eyes, and looks around. He turned his head all the way around to look at the officer standing behind him, which was way cool. Then, he just gets up, spreads his wings, and flys away! He went in a huge circle over us, then out and away! It might have been the coolest, most beautiful bird I've ever seen. His wingspan was huge! It was so amazing! Luckily, I dont think it was us that hit him. We aren't really sure what could have happened to him, but we think he was in shock in the road, then came out of it and was just fine, thankfully!

Nathan likes to ruin pictures... But here is everyone, minus myself.

Bandimere Speedway!

Last Wednesday, Nate, his dad Steve, and his friend Matt, all decided to take their cars to Bandimere to run them for the "CSP Take it to the Track Night." It is a really cool idea, sponsored by the Colorado State Patrol. It's all about taking your cars to the track to drag race, instead of doing it on the streets. Anyways, we all went out to watch, and I even got to ride with Nate in the Nova while we raced Matt once. The boys all ran their cars a few times, and had such a blast. And we loved watching them too. There were tons of neat cars there, and some super fast bikes too! Nate was running his car in the low 16s, and was pushing to hit 15 before the end of the night, but didn't quite make it. But that's okay, it gives him something to work towards for next time! Landon was such a trooper the whole time. The loud cars and smoke from the tires didn't even bother him. He actually kind of liked it. I think it's in his blood. :)

First Boat Ride!

About two weeks ago, we went out to the Cherry Creek Resivoir with my friend Justin and a few other people to go on Justin's boat for the day. Nate wasn't able to come with us, unfortunately, but Landon and I had such a blast! He loved when we would go fast and the wind blew through his hair. He just had the biggest smile on his face the whole time! We both ended up with a little sunburn that day, but it quickly went away and was well worth it.

7-Months-Old!

Little man is getting to be not-so-little anymore. Sad face for mommy. But, he is starting to get such a personality and he is learning new things every day! Landon now weighs 20lbs 10.5oz. He has his two bottom front teeth, and can sit up like a champ! He is also trying very hard to crawl. He gets up on all fours, and rocks back and forth, then lunges forward and faceplants. It is quite cute, but sad for him. He also wants very badly to walk. If you let him stand up and hold your hands, he just takes off and cruises all over the place! He is such a wiggleworm and is getting harder and harder to contain by the day! Poor guy, gets so frustrated because he wants to terribly to be mobile and just can't get it yet. But it feels like in a matter of days he will figure out this crawling thing, and then there will be no stopping him! He loves to play in his walker and cruise all over the house, and especially loves to be in the kitchen while we are cooking. Landon's babble now consists of "mamamamama" and "dadadadada" which just melts my heart every time he does it! We mostly get "mama" while eating, or when hes sad or upset, and "dada" while hes playing. I guess we know what we're both good for in his mind! He is eating 5-6 containers of baby food a day, as well as getting 4-5 6oz. bottles of formula. And the boy still eats anything you put in front of him (except the meat baby foods, but I don't blame him, who would eat that anyways?). He is still waking up once at night to eat, then going right back to sleep until the morning. And he takes two naps a day, which vary in length from 30 minutes to 2 and a half hours. I'll take whatever I can get these days! That chunky man wears me out! As my mom put it, getting him dressed is "like wrestling a small animal." And its so true! He is mega wiggly and extremely strong! We joke that we should turn him green and call him our Hulk Baby. But, he is still ever-so-sweet, and melts hearts with his smiles and giggles. Oh, and he is finally getting some more hair! Its about time. It is still pretty light (some say it looks red in the sun) but I think it is going to be a light brown for now. Who knows. The boy suprises us every day!

Utah Trip!

We had our first family vacation just two weeks ago. We flew to Salt Lake City to spend a few days with Nate's sister, Sydney, and her family, then drove to St. George to see another one of his sister's, Paige, and her new baby boy. Then we made the long journey home through some beautiful parts of Utah I had never seen before. We had so much fun with everyone, despite a few small roadblocks. We left on Monday morning at 4am for a 7:00 flight, and when we woke Landon up at 3:30, he was running a little fever due to teething. So we knew from the beginning that it was going to be a VERY long day. He did great on his first plane trip though. He started crying before the plane took off, but I was able to calm him down and put him to sleep in my lap before takeoff, and he slept for about 3/4 of the flight, until the pilot came on to give us some information, and the loud ding of the speaker woke him up. But he was so good even after that. He played in my lap and in Nate's lap, looked out the window, took some pictures, and just hung out. We got to see Nate's Aunt and her family, as well as his grandpa, that evening, which was really cool because Landon got to meet his Great-Grandpa, one of two great grandparents he has. It was so much fun to hang out with Sydney and Luke and Lola for a few days. Landon and Lola are finally getting interested in each other and wanting to hang out and figure out what the other one is doing. It is so cute! Unfortunately, after one tooth came through, another one was quick to follow, then a cold came on for both Landon and myself. I believe we left our mark at Sydney's house. Then we made our journey to St. George to see Paige and her little Lincoln! He is too cute, and so tiny! And such a good little boy! It's hard for me to believe that Landon was once that big, seeing as how now he is a "man child" as Grandpa Steve likes to call him. It was a lot of fun to see St. George and see where some of Nate's family is from. It is a really pretty town, and the red rocks all over are just beautiful! After spending a few days there, we snuck out early on Saturday morning to start our long journey home. Ten hours in the car with a baby... and it was actually not as bad as it seems. Landon slept for the first part of the trip, since it was so early. Then we stopped for breakfast and let him play for a bit. Then he and Daddy took a nap while I drove, then another stop for gas and some play time. Then he just hung out in the back until we got home. He only started to fuss about 30 minutes before we got home. Which is A-OK with me! He was so happy to be home in his bed with his toys, and not to mention his puppies. We had a great trip, but I think it's safe to say we were all happy to be home.

Waiting for the plane. Had to cruise around the airport.

Still waiting, but being a good boy!
