The end of this month has been quite eventful for us! To end our exciting month, we took Landon to his first baseball game to see the Rockies and the Dodgers. Nate wore his Dodgers jersey, so naturally, we had to put Landon in his Dodgers shirt. We went with Nate's Dad and Brother, and it was so much fun! Our seats were out in right field, on the second level, and of course, there doesnt seem to be any bad seats in Coors Field. Landon was such a good boy the whole time. He was kind of wiggly, and wasn't sure what to think when everyone started yelling and screaming. He was too cute though, trying to climb into my lap and wanting me to hold him tight when it got loud. He didn't get fussy until the bottom of the 7th, which was perfect because we ended up leaving in the middle of the 8th. He had so much fun being there with us, and I am so happy we got to take him and that he was a good boy for us! We didnt even have to get up and walk around with him!
And what was even more exciting, though I don't have pictures, was that on the way home that night, Nate saw something in the road that he thought was a cat or a branch or something. As we got closer to it, though we didn't slow down any, Nate realized it was an owl! I didn't see it, so we turned around and went back, pulled over with our cautions on, and got out to check it out. Sure enough, it was an owl laying face down in the road. Luckily, a cop pulled up not long after, turned his lights on and blocked the street. He poked it with his nightstick to see if it would respond any, and it did. So we knew it wasn't dead. He called for someone to come get it. And while we were waiting, the officer managed to get the owl into a sitting position, but he still had his eyes closed and wasn't moving. Another couple pulled over and came to tell us about a foundation that rescues and rehabilitates owls, so that we wouldn't send it away with Animal Control. So the cop radioed in and was telling them about this foundation, when all of a sudden the owl opens his eyes, and looks around. He turned his head all the way around to look at the officer standing behind him, which was way cool. Then, he just gets up, spreads his wings, and flys away! He went in a huge circle over us, then out and away! It might have been the coolest, most beautiful bird I've ever seen. His wingspan was huge! It was so amazing! Luckily, I dont think it was us that hit him. We aren't really sure what could have happened to him, but we think he was in shock in the road, then came out of it and was just fine, thankfully!
Nathan likes to ruin pictures... But here is everyone, minus myself.
